Ingredients

1 lemon

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed

2 Tbs extra virgin olive oil

¼ teaspoon sea salt

pinch black pepper

I tried a fry-pan version

As simple as that!

Lemony Broiled Asparagus

Steps:


1. Turn on broiler to high or heat up your grill.

2. Zest lemon, then cut lemon and squeeze juice. You should get about 1 teaspoon zest and ¼ cup juice.

3. Toss asparagus with zest, olive oil, salt and pepper. Place asparagus in single layer on a sheet pan and broil for 5 minutes until tender and slightly charred in spots, but not burnt.

4. Using a spatula or tongs flip asparagus over onto its other side and broil 5 minutes more.

5. Remove asparagus from oven and transfer to serving platter. Drizzle with lemon juice and serve.

as a side-dish, or as a snack served

with your favorite dipping sauce.


If you don’t want turn on the broiler,

try popping the spears onto a grill instead.”
